AMBER ALERT Missing 4 year Old Akron boy
Akron Police have revoked an Amber Alert for a 4-year-old toddler abducted after his mother was shot by his "armed and dangerous" father on Sept. 19.
A 4-year-old Akron toddler abducted after his father brutally injured his mother was discovered unharmed, authorities said.
Akron police responded to a report of shots fired near Garfield High School and discovered the child's mother wounded.
Police said she was shot many times and unconscious. Witnesses said the boy's father shot his estranged partner and left with their child.
Jose Castro, considered "armed and dangerous," was still at large Monday night. Accused of assault and kidnapping.
Akron police captain David Laughlin said detectives saw Jose Castro grab the infant and run after the incident. 9:20 p.m.: Statewide Amber Alert.
Fabian Claudio-Castro was identified by police. The infant was returned uninjured one hour after the Amber Alert was issued.
Jose Castro, 24, is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 132 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
