Sunday marked a game full of firsts for the 1-0 Eagles. Here's a recap of their Week 1 victory, as told through firsts:

The Eagles beat the Lions 38-35 in their 2022 season opener. The series is now 19-16-2 and 4-2 at Ford Field.

Hurts' first game with the same playcaller (Shane Steichen) for a year. His father, Averion, was the head coach at Channelview High School when he was 17. He completed 18-of-32 passes

for 243 yards and ran 17 times for 90 yards and a touchdown. "It was a hard-fought victory, and I enjoyed how resilient we were in Week 1 against new opponents," said Hurts.

"We talked about not riding waves of the game, controlling what we can, and both sides of the ball executed poorly at times.

We were resilient, played through the good, bad, and ugly, and had each other's backs."

The Lions haven't offered standing-room-only tickets for a non-Thanksgiving game since 2017. The boisterous crowd made the Eagles' first drive their worst.

"It was so loud we couldn't hear (Hurts)," A.J. stated Brown. "How he controlled the game, I believe he did really well. I'm sure he'll say it wasn't good enough, but that's his mentality,

and I'm pleased he has it, because for us, it wasn't good enough. "The offensive quickly recovered. Hurts had 256 yards in the first half, the most of his career.
