Martina McBride became a country singing success about 30 years ago, and she recently gained new fans on "Monarch."
McBride told Fox News Digital, "I'm excited." I read the script and thought, 'This is juicy, large, and thrilling.' I was happy to be invited to participate in it.
McBride was startled to be cast alongside Trace Adkins, Anna Friel, Beth Ditto, and Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon.
The show follows a musical dynasty of country performers as they navigate the ever-changing music industry.
"When you think of all the individuals they could have invited, especially for the first concert, I don't know why I was chosen," McBride stated.
"It's very great to be a part of something like this. I think this show will be popular."
Martina was "fortunate" to be part of the early 1990s wave of female country musicians.
"A lot of country music singers my age and younger grew up with multidimensional music exposure: elder siblings, MTV, VH1, etc.
